PJ Hindu Gymkhana duo Dhruv Sitwala fired a break of 323 and Aditya Agrawal hit 257 to light up the second round robin, in the MCF State Level Open Billiards Tournament, at the Mandpeshwar Civic Federation, Borivali on Friday.

The elite cueists delighted with the big breaks as India No. 3 Sitwala, playing with a handicap of -650, registered the competition’s first triple century break and added 117 en route to a convincing 900-93 win over Sunil Jain of Elphinstone Cricket Club in Group C. ONGC’s Sitwala, a recent world record holder as the first player ever to make an unfinished break of 400 under the Baulkline Rule in a game of 400 points in the 2015 Americas’ Cup Billiards Championship in Canada, added four half-century breaks as he warmed up for sterner tests ahead.

Railways’ Aditya Agrawal also kicked off his campaign with a fluent win when he beat club mate Raghav Agrawal 700-119 that included breaks of 257 and 118, in Group H. Hitesh Kotwani of PJ Hindu Gymkhana and Sanchit Gemavat of MCF registered their second wins in as many outings in their respective groups. Gemavat’s effort included an upset win over V. Subramanian, who fired 118 and two half-century breaks in vain.
