MCF Open Handicap Billiards Tournament 2016
Agrawal enhances hopes
State No. 2 Arun Agrawal scored crucial back-to-back wins to keep his hopes alive of qualifying for the knock out pre-quarter-finals, in the state level MCF Open Billiards Tournament, at the Mandpeshwar Civic Federation, Borivali on Saturday.
After a surprise reverse in his opening Group E tie, 12-time state champion Agrawal’s effort included a win over Vishal Gehani of Park Club with century breaks of 176 and 115, and a win over Akash Asrani of Khar Gymkhana with breaks of 214, 101, 95 and 103.
2015 Asian English Championship winner Dhruv Sitwala of PJ Hindu Gymkhana notched his second win in as many outings and delighted with breaks of 247, 148 and an unfinished 197 against Yash Rungta of Kandivali.
Rohan Jambusaria of MCF and Shekhar Surve of Shivaji Park Gymkhana also recorded their second wins to strengthen their chances of qualifying.
