Kadian lifts Junior Snooker title at the Manisha - Vascon National Billiards and Snooker Championship

Digvijay Kadian of Haryana defeated last year’s Junior Asian Bronze Medalist S Srikrishna of PSPB to win the Junior Snooker final at the Manisha - Vascon National Billiards and Snooker Championship organized by BSAM and played at PYC Hindu Gymkhana Billiards room on Thursday.
Kadian looked in no mood to settle for the second spot right from the semifinals. In the semifinal he defeated Aman Bansod in straight sets with a 4-0 scoreline. Final round on Thursday was no different as Kadian won it in straight sets 4-0.
Kadian got a tough fight in the first frame but the Haryana cuiest managed to win it with a 65-44 score. It was a cakewalk for Kadian thereafter, as he went on to win the remaining three frames 55-11, 75-01, 67-32 in which the second frame included a break of 50 points.
“I clicked in all department today. I managed to hold Srikrishna and didn’t let him score big points. I couldn’t win in the last edition and could not have favourable results in the group stage. Thanks to my coach Alok Kumar sir who I am training under since the last five years. I didn’t lose a single frame in the knockout rounds. I really practiced for 6-7 hours solo at the table in my home. Snooker is my favourite. Billiards somehow hasn’t worked for me so far. Yet I am trying my hands on it,” said Kadian who is a 12 standard student of Indus Public School, Rohtak.
In the match for third place, Maharashtra’s Sparsh Pherwani defeated Aman Bansod of Madhyapradesh 3-2(52-66(59), 58-39, 78-16, 33-52, 68(68)-16).
In the Senior Billiards event Telangana’s cueist Himanshu Jain scored a 3-1(152-67, 150-57, 83-152, 150-129) win over Shahbaz Adil Khan of PSPB in group E, while in Group C Dhruv Sitwala from PSPB potted out Ankit Kariwala of West Bengal 3-0(150(146)-00, 150(50,75)-42, 150(131)-19).
The winner and runner up received trophy and certificates. The prizes were given away at the hands of Former India No.3 and Current State Snooker Champion Arun Agarwal. Mr.Rishabh Kumar, Secretary of BSAM, Mr.Shekhar Surve, Treasurer of BSAM, Mr.Amit Sapru, Committee member of BSAM, Mr.Rajwardhan Joshi were present on the occasion.
