Poras brilliant in 3-0 win against Sahijwani

Mumbai: Poras Shah played brilliantly and ran up breaks in every frame as he handed Rebanta Sahijwani a 3-0 defeat in second round match of the Matunga Gymkhana 9-Red Open Handicap Snooker Tournament 2017, which is sponsored and hosted by Matunga Gymkhana and played at the gymkhana’s billiards hall.
The lanky Poras (+24 handicap) was hitting the balls with pin-point accuracy and quite consistently as he completely dominated the match against Sahijwani (+35 handicap). Impressive from the start Poras rolled in breaks of 26 in the first frame, 29 in the second and signed off with a break of 30 in the third to close out a 70-59, 77-55, 81-49 win and charge into the third round.
Anees Jumani also enjoyed a good second round and sent Surajit Shirke packing with a 3-0 defeat. Jumani (+24 handicap) started with a break of 24 won the first frame and then maintained the momentum by winning the next two frames for a deserving 86-53, 79-59, 81-67 victory.
Meanwhile, Bhushan Shahade struck late form to overcome Shahbaaz Khan in a closely fought second round match. Shahade (+32 handicap) was down 1-2 against Shahbaaz Khan (+21 handicap), but he played some excellent shots in the last two frames, which he managed to win and clinch a fantastic 54-73, 70-56, 65-82, 70-49, 75-44 win to make the next round.
Seasoned player Manav Panchal also marched to the third round with a fluent 3-1 win against Anant Yelve. The experienced Panchal (+35 handicap) was in full flow and struck break of 37 (1st frame), 22 (2nd frame) and 32 (4th frame) to record a satisfying 67-57, 66-62, 23-74, 82-57 triumph.
