Mumbai: Chembur Gymkhana billiards team CG ‘Gladiators’ maintained their terrific winning run of form defeating Park Club’s team PCL ‘Beach Boys Also’ by convincing margins, 641-543 in the away fixture and 660-548 in their home game in Section-F during the third week of the CCI Kekoo Nicholson BSAM Billiards League 2019.
Meanwhile, Khar Gymkhana’s Rishabh Thakkar of KG ‘A’ struck the first century break when he constructed a 101 effort in his win against Chembur Gymkhana’s M.S Shivangi in the home match.
Gladiators comprising of Loukic Pathare, Aditya Agrawal, Megh Shah and Sagar Madan, who replaced Agrawal for the third round of matches, finished with an enviable all-win record having won all six matches and they also pocketed all the 18 frames. They topped the section with 15 points including three bonus points.
Bombay Gymkhana outfit BG ‘Phantoms’ clinched the second spot behind Gladiators and also qualified for the knockout phase of the competition. Phantoms scored crucial wins against Catholic Gymkhana team Catholic ‘Rebel’ by pulling off a 563-420 victory at home and followed it with a 577-467 success in the away tie to clinch their fourth win and finish with 10 points including two bonus points.
Shivaji Park Gymkhana also had a great run winning all six matches to end with a tally 15 points (12 + 3 bonus points) to grab the top spot in Section-F. Central Railway’s CRMI ‘Star Blue’ with 10 points from 4 wins and two bonus points qualified as the second team from this section.

Section-F: JVPG ‘Superlative’ Vs CRMI ‘Star Blue’ (354-536, 376-528); NSCI ‘A’ Vs SPG ‘Gentelmen’ (506-661, 578-620).
