Ishpreet Singh Chadha of Khar Gymkhana beat Hasan Badami of Islam Gymkhana 6-2 in the final to emerge champion in the Matunga Gymkhana 6-Red Snooker Tournament.

National and state junior snooker champion Chadha dominated the championship round from the start while racing to a 4-0 lead that gave him an envious cushion. Chadha’s huge advantage put Badami under immense pressure as the latter struggled to keep his hopes alive.

Chadha’s effort included five significant breaks, four coming in the first four frames that reflected supreme confidence, and an unfinished 40 in the eighth that subdued Badami.

“Overall, I played well,” explained Chadha, who is also the IBSF World Billiards under-21 runner-up and Asian billiards under-21 bronze medallist. “Though my safety wasn’t good, I made amends by potting and positioning well.”
“I was under no pressure and after the (4-0) lead it was difficult for Hasan to make a comeback,” added Chadha, who next travels to

Malaysia for the Mike Yow Memorial Cup Snooker followed by the Asian men’s snooker in Doha, Qatar.
