Subramanian, Kotwani strike form to score wins

Mumbai, January 11: V. Subramanian of Matunga Gymkhana and Hitesh Kotwani of Hindu Gymakhana, both produced century breaks in winning their respective league matches of the P.J. Hindu Gymkhana Invitation Billiards Tournament 2016, which commenced at the Gymkhana’s billiards hall.
In a Group ‘E’ round-robin league match, Subramanian, fondly called ‘Raja’, struck good form hitting a break of 146 and two other runs of 87 and 79 to overcome Kekoo Nicholson of CCI by a comfortable 489-249 scoreline.
Meanwhile in a very interesting and closely contested Group ‘F’ league match, Kotwani managed to beat back a strong challenge from Rohan Jambusaria of MCF to snatch a tight 372-355 victory. Jambusaria also had a century break of 103.
In a Group ‘H’ encounter played between Hindu Gymkhana players, Aditya Agrawal was in total control and made a break of 78 as he defeated Chetan Hemadi 438-203. But, Hemadi bounced back in style winning his second group game defeating Mehrenosh Billimoria of Bombay Gymkhana 271-249.
