Match Format & Rules
Matunga Gymkhana is organizing a 6-Red Open Snooker Tournament under the auspices of BSAM. This tournament is only for players with +30 handicap or more in Mumbai Snooker League.
Format:
Knock-out best of 5 - Round 1
Round 2 onwards (Best of 7 frames)
Quarter Final & Semi-Finals (Best of 7 frames)
Finals (Best of 9 frames)
Rules and Regulations
Rules for walk over:
Player has to report 15 mins Prior to their scheduled time.
A person coming 5 minutes late will lose one frame.
A person coming 15 minutes late will lose the match.
Rules for Dress Code:
Collared T-Shirts will be allowed. Please note that proper dress code needs to be adhered to by the players. Low waist jeans, trousers displaying undergarments while playing, chappals, sandals, caps, playing barefoot, shorts, 3/4ths shall be strictly NOT ALLOWED.
However, the tournament committee shall make an exception if a genuine medical report or doctors' certificate is produced.
A player shall not be allowed to play if the above dress code is not adhered to.
Discipline & Decorum
All participants are expected to maintain the highest standards of discipline and decorum within the club premises at all times.
Any participant, viewer, or spectator found indulging in misconduct or inappropriate behaviour will be denied entry and/or removed from the premises without exception.
All participants are requested to compete strictly in the true spirit of the game. Any act of disrespect towards an opponent, match officials, the venue, or the sport itself will invite disciplinary action.
The decision of the Tournament Committee in all such matters shall be final and binding.
Smoking Policy
Matunga Gymkhana is a strictly smoke-free zone.
Players, viewers, and spectators are prohibited from smoking anywhere within the gymkhana premises. Any participant found violating this rule shall be liable for immediate disqualification from the tournament on disciplinary grounds.
Surveillance & Access Control
Matunga Gymkhana is under CCTV surveillance.
Players, viewers, and spectators are required to remain within the designated areas only, namely:
• Billiards Department
• Lounge Area (only if accompanied by a Matunga Gymkhana Member)
No other areas of the premises shall be accessible to players, viewers, or spectators during the tournament.
Foul and Miss Rule:
Snooker behind nominated ball not allowed (6-red Snooker format). It will be considered as a foul, if snooker given behind nominated ball.
3 Foul and Miss Rule will apply.
On the colour balls (yellow onwards), a player needing 4 Snookers or more (40 points or more) will have to COMPULSORILY concede the frame to the player leading at that point.
The Final Decision in all matters pertaining to the tournament will lie with the Tournament Committee.
