Mumbai, April 26: Khar Gymkhana ‘A’ team boosted by the confident play from Sumer Mago, Ishpreet Singh and Tathya Sachdev defeating NSCI ‘B’ in both the home and away fixtures 505-309 and 540-476 in Section-D first round matches, during the first week, of the Billiards & Snooker Association of Maharashtra (BSAM) organized annual Greatwhite-CCI Kekoo Nicholson Mumbai Billiards League 2023. The wins in both the ties ensured Khar Gymkhana a bonus point and they now have 5 points from the first round.
Singh, who along with Mago won both their matches, constructed an unfinished 135 point break in the home match. Sachdev also hit a 50 run in this match, while Mago had scored a 56 break in the away match.
Meanwhile, seasoned billiards player Arun Agrawal struck a century break of 101 points as Matunga Gymkhana ‘A’ won the home fixture against P.J. Hindu Gymkhana 542-445. But, in the reverse, away tie, Rovin D’Souza fired two breaks of 58 and 56 as Hindu Gymkhana clinched a 512-356 win against Matunga Gymkhana to level the match scores at 1-1.
However, Matunga Gymkhana ‘B’ team were not as fortunate and suffered defeats at the hands of Matoshree Club in the both the home and away matches. Matoshree Club overcame Matunga Gymkhana ‘B’ 596-529 in the home match and then beat them 648-520 on the Matunga Gymkhana tables.
