Match Format & Rules
TOURNMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. The tournament will commence on 27th February 2023 and will be conducted in the
BILIARDS ROOM of PYC Hindu Gymkhanna, 766 Shivajinagar, Bhandarkar Road,
Pune 411004. However in order to complete the tournament in schedule time, some
of the league matches and few of the knock rounds will be conducted at
other venues also, which will be duely notified.
2. Prize Money :
Winner team : Rs. 1,50,000
Runner team : Rs. 80,000
S. finalist each team : Rs. 40,000
Q. finalist each team : Rs 20,000
Trophy will also be awarded with each Prize
Highest break 15 red : Rs. 10,000
Highest break 6 red : Rs. 5,000
Min Qualifying breaks 100 for 15 Red and 70 for 6 Red.
Very Important :
Prize Money will be subject to deduction of TDS as applicable and hence the
PAN Numbers of the winning players will essentially be required.
3. The Format of the Tournament: All the matches will be played Best of 5 frames
(Race to THREE FRAMES) from League to Final. Three frames of 6 Red snooker
and Two frames of 15 Red snooker. For all games there will be 4 calls of miss
and fifth call of foul.
However for 6 Red Snooker Game the rules of 6 Red snooker will apply ie. Snooker
behind nominated ball will be foul. After 4 miss calls and 5th foul call ball in hand
can be opted for (ie any where on table) provided the snooker required situation is
not prevalent.
The Sequence of games :
1st Frame 6 Red,
2nd Frame 15 Red,
3rd Frame 6 Red,
4th Frame 15 Red,
5th Frame 6 Red.
4. Dress Code: Only formal trousers will be allowed. Participants wearing any
kind of jeans, Sports shoes, Chappals, Floaters, will not be allowed to play
their match. Collared T-Shirts will be allowed. Dress code will be adhered to
from the first match itself. There will be no concession even for the first
match.
5. Entries must be accompanied by the Entry Fee. Entry fee per team is Rs.6,000/-
Last date for Entry Thursday 16th February 2023
The entry may be cancelled by the committee if the payment is not received prior to
the date specified. The entry fee can be paid by Cash or UPI at the PYC reception,
Or by demand draft in favour of PYC Hindu Gymkhana payable at Pune, Or by

6. The tournament committee reserves the right to refuse any entry without assigning
any reasons whatsoever.
7. Any number of teams can be entered by any club/ institution/ group of players. The
total restriction on participation is 48 teams for the tournament. Hence acceptance
of teams will be decided by organizing committee. Each team will consist of
minimum of 3 and maximum of 4 players only.
8. In case of excess entries a play off will be held and fee for play off will be
Rs. 2,000/- for the loosing team. The date and draw for play off will be duly
notified.
9. The schedule of matches shall be strictly adhered to. Matches once arranged shall
not be advanced or postponed without the consent of the Tournament Committee.
10. In the event of participant failing to turn up on the scheduled start time but within
10 minutes will have to concede ONE frame, reporting between 10 to 20 minutes
will have to concede TWO frames to the opponent and failing to report within 20
minutes of the scheduled start time of the match he/she shall be deemed to have
given a walkover to opponent. In the event of both participants failing to turn up for
their match, the match will be considered abandoned and cancelled without further
rescheduling.
11. Matches will be scheduled from 9.30 a.m. to 10.00 p.m..
12. The decision of the referee or in his absence by the marker will be final and binding
on all teams.
13. Smoking, consumption of alcohol and bringing of eatables will not be permitted
inside the Snooker Room. Mobile phones should be switched off before entering the
billiard hall.
14. The tournament committee reserves the right to change or modifiy any of
the rules during the course of the tournament.
