Match Format & Rules
Due to pandemic restrictions only being lifted recently in the state of Maharashtra the MC Of BSAM has decided that ONLY for the year 2021 there will be a single state selection tournament for Billiards and Snooker.
Going forward BSAM is committed to having two selections legs.
1.Proposed Dates
15 Red Snooker - 24th October 2021 to 2nd November 2021
6 Red snooker -11th November 2021 to 1st December 2021
2. Venue
The Red Triangle Snooker Academy
Gajanan Maharay Mandir Road,
Sandesh Nagar, Chaitanya Nagar,
Gharkheda, Aurangabab, Maharashtra -431001
3. It is compulsory for every participating player to have taken a minimum of one jab or shot or dose of the Covid vaccine. The requisite certificate needs to be sent to the BSAM email address along with the entries. Players who have already taken one shot please try and get your second shot which is now available after 28 days.
4. No player shall be allowed to play without paying the entry fees.

5. Matches will be scheduled from 10am in the morning with the last slot commencing at 8pm in the evening.
6. In case a player tests positives, the following protocols will be followed:
…the positive players close contact and people present in the playing arena during his match including the staff will have do a RTPCR TEST and will not be allowed to play till the result of the test. This may postpone the tournament by a DAY OR TWO as the arena will have to sanitized and other government protocols may be needed to be followed. …
7. Participants below the age of 18 years will have to produce an RTPCR TEST NEGATIVE report not less than 72hrs old before they play their match and will also have to repeat the test every 3 days as the go further in the tournament .
8. The Govt SOPS, dress code, BSAM guidelines & the Snooker rules for the state ranking event will be followed without exception.

Last Date of entries for 6 Red Snooker is Oct 31,2021 at 6pm
Senior Snooker (15 Red )
Dates: Oct 24 to Nov 2,2021
Venue: Red Triangle Snooker Academy, Aurangabad
Entry Fee: 2000/-
Depending on the number of entries received, the dates may vary +/- 2 days. Oct 18th will however be the date of commencement.
Format for 6 Red Snooker:
Double Elimination For Qualifying.
Best of 5 Frames.
Main Draw: Knock Out
Best of 9 frames upto Quarter finals
Semi finals :Best of 11 frames
Final: Best of 13 frames
Match for 3rd and 4 th Place.
Best of 9 frames
Entry Fee:
Kindly transfer the total amount & share the payment details via email (above mentioned) for reconciliation purposes.
No entry will be confirmed unless we receive the vaccination certificate of at least one dose taken and entry fees paid.
Please Note:
BSAM should receive the email & the entry fee by the respective last dates. Entries received after the last date or without the entry fee and vaccination certificate will not be accepted/included in the draws.
Format for 15 Red Snooker:
Senior Men:
16 qualifiers will join the 16 ranked seeds and will be divided into 8 Groups of 4 players each (Round Robin Main Draw)
Format: Best of 5 Frames
Top 2 from each group will qualify for the knock outs:
16 players will play a knock draw.
Format: Best of 7 frames till the Final.
There will be play off matches for 3 rd and 4 th place.
Format: Best of 5 Frames
There will be play off matches for 5 th to 8 th and 9 th to 16 th place as well.
Format: Best of 3 Frames.
Rules for walk over:
A person coming 10 mins late will loose one frame.
A person coming 20 mins late will loose Two frame.
A person coming 30 mins late will loose the match.
The Red Triangle Snooker Academy Billiard room clock will be the official and final time keeper.
Rules for Dress Code:
All participants must wear formal clothing for their matches i.e a formal shirt, formal trousers, socks and formal shoes. Any participant who does NOT adhere to the above dress code will not be permited to play their match.
FOUL & MISS RULE:
For Qualifying 15 Red Snooker rounds:
· A player will have to hit the ball if he is snookered (this is mandatory).
· If a player misses, it will be called a foul & miss and the player who has snookered him, can ask the ball to be replaced. However, there will be a maximum of 3 foul and misses i.e. after 2 re-spots, the third miss will be considered as a foul ‘only’; after which player will have the following options:
1. Play from where the handball has come to rest
2. Claim a free ball (if it is one)
3. Ask the opponent to play again
4. In case, while attempting to break a snooker and a free ball position comes into existence, there will still be a total of ONLY 3 fouls & a misses i.e. ONLY 2 re-spots. If the third shot to break the snooker fails then it will only be considered a foul. Unless, the player who has given the snooker gets a free ball, pots another ball & then gives a fresh snooker; will be entitled to a new set of foul & miss.
· Please note that everyone must make a genuine attempt at removing snookers. After 2 attempts at removing snooker a player just cannot play the handball in any direction, which is obvious that he has not made an attempt to remove the snooker. In such a case, he will be penalized with a foul (due points will be given to the opponent) & can be asked to play the shot again (respotting).
. From the main draw there will be unlimited foul n miss.
For Double Elimination qualifying : 6 Red Snooker.
A maximum of 5 foul and misses can be called. That is 4 respots and the after the 5th attempt it will be called a foul.
The player will then have an option to:
1. Play from where the ball has stopped
2. Ask the opponent to play from where the ball has stopped
3. Take ball in hand and put it anywhere on the table and play the next shot.
Draws and Match Schedule.
All the draws and the match schedules will be put up on the website www.bsam.in well in advance. The draws will also be put up at the Red Triangle Snooker Academy .All participants must check the website for their schedule match time and date well in advance. All participants must report for their match 15 minutes before their scheduled time. No participant will be notified of their matches... they need to CHECK the same on the above website.Matches once scheduled will NOT be adjusted.
Discipline and Decorum:
All participants are requested to maintain decorum in the club premises. Any participant or their relative failing to do so will not be permitted to enter the club
ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUESTED TO PLAY IN THE SPIRIT OF THE GAME. STRICT ACTION WILL BE TAKEN AGAINST THE PARTICIPANT WHO DISRESPECTS HIS OPPONENT OR THE GAME IN ANY WAY.
The decision of the TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE ON ALL MATTERS WILL BE FINAL AND BINDING.
Kindly take note that Due to the pandemic there will only be one leg of the State Selections for the year 2021.
