Mumbai: Joseph Menezes of Otters Club potted steadily and comfortably sailed to a 3-0 win against Satyshil Saravanker of MCF in a second round match of the Islam Gymkhana organised 10th Pro SnookerClassic Tournament – 2019 for markers and played at the Islam Gymkhana billiards room. Menezes raced to a 39-16, 34-2 38-29 win.
Meanwhile, Islam Gymkhana’s Arvind Jadhav took full advantage of the home conditions and eased past Sunil Yelve (MCA) 3-0 (29-17, 37-14, 26-10) in a first round encounter.
JVPG’s Uttam Dahikamble fought hard to overcome Satish Surati (PG) by a tight 3-2 (49-39, 19-35, 28-47, 44-16 and 39-37) frame scores.
In another match, Malabar Hill Club’s Bhupendra Surti prevailed over Ravi Shetty (JVPG) by a 3-1 (12-23, 39-14, 35-11 and 35-9) margin.
Results – First round: Peter Samuel (MP) beat Sudhir Pawar (Catholic Gym) 3-1 (26-6, 34-30, 58-42, 41-19);
Bhupendra Surti (MHC) beat Ravi Shetty (JVPG) 3-1 (12-23, 39-14, 35-11, 35-9);
Uttam Dahikamble (JVPG) beat Satish Surati (PG) 3-2 (49-39, 19-35, 28-47, 44-16, 39-37);
Jeet Gawde (SPG) beat Pratik More (MG) 3-1 (32-34, 49-9, 46-32, 26-10);
Arvind Jadhav (Islam Gym) beat Sunil Yelve (MCA) 3-0 (29-17, 37-14, 26-10).
Second round: Joseph Menezes (Otters Club) beat Satyshil Saravanker (MCF) 3-0 (39-16, 34-2, 38-29).
