Match Format & Rules

Criteria to Qualify for Nationals 2019:

As per the Guidlines laid down by the Billiard and Snooker Federation Of India below are the no of entries that will get direct entry into the Nationals.

Billiards: Top 2 players Basis ranking points earned in state selection.
There will be National qualifying in the Billiards Discipline.

Snooker: Top 8 players Basis ranking points earned in state selection.
There will be no National qualifying in the Snooker Discipline.

Last date for sending entries Oct 30,2018 at 4pm.
(Entries without entry fee paid ,player registration forms and fees paid will not be put in the draw.)
(No requests towards match schedule will be entertained)
Tentative Start Date : Nov 12 th
Tentative end Date will depend on total no of entries received.

Rules and Regulations for state Selection Leg 2.

Format for Billiards:
Top 8 Basis State selection leg 1 will be seeded in 4 groups of 4 players each.
For the remaining 8 slots there will be qualifying knock out draw.
Best of 5 100 Up
Round Robin stage: Top 8 +8 Qualifiers
Best of 5 100 Up
Top 2 from each group will qualify for the Knock out Stage Basis their Round Robin performance.
Knock out matches:  Quarter Final  Best of 5 150 up , Semi finals & Final Best of 7 150 up
BAULK LINE RULE WILL BE APPLICABLE.
There will be a play off for 3rd and 4 th place
Best of 3 150 Up.
There will be a play off FOR 5th 6 th 7 th and 8 th PLACE.
Best of 3 100 Up.
Ranking points will be awarded basis Selection 1 and Selection 2.
Players who earn the highest Ranking points basis Selection 1 and 2 will qualify for the Nationals.
In case of a tie there will be a playoff Best of 5 150 Up.

Format for Snooker:
Top 16 Basis State selection leg 1 will be seeded in 8 groups of 4 players each.
Top 2 from each group will qualify for the knock outs:
The 16 players will play a knock draw:
Best of 7 frames.
There will be a play off for 3rd and 4 th place
Best of 3 frames
There will be a play off FOR 5th 6 th 7 th and 8 th PLACE.
Best of 3 Frames
Ranking points will be awarded basis Selection leg 1 and Selection leg 2.
Players who earn the highest Ranking points basis Selection 1 and 2 will qualify for the Nationals.
In case there is a tie there will be a play off between the two players.Best of 5 frames.

Ranking Points : (for each Leg )
Snooker:
Winner: 9 points
Runner Up : 7 points
Losing Semi finalists: 5 points
Losing Quarter finalists: 3 points
Losing pre quarterfinalists: 2 points

Billiards:
Winner: 9 points
Runner Up : 7 points
Losing Semi finalists: 5 points
Losing Quarter finalists: 3 points

Rules for walk over:
A person coming 5 mins late will loose one frame.
A person coming 15 mins late will loose the match.
The Bombay Gymkhana Billiard room clock will be the official and final time keeper

Rules for Dress Code:
All participants ( men and women) must wear formal clothing for their matches i.e a formal shirt, formal trousers, socks and formal shoes. Any participant who does NOT adhere to the above dress code will not be permitted to play their match. This rule will be strictly enforced.

Draws and Match Schedule.
All the draws and the match schedules will be put up on the website www.bsam.in well in advance. The draws will also be put up at the Bombay Gymkhana. All participants must check the website for their schedule match time and date well in advance. All participants must report for their match 15 minutes before their   scheduled time. No participant will be notified of their matches... they need to CHECK the same on the above website.Matches once scheduled will NOT be adjusted.

Discipline and Decorum:
All participants are requested to maintain decorum in the club premises. Any participant or their relative failing to do so will not be permitted to enter the club

ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUESTED TO PLAY IN THE SPIRIT OF THE GAME STRICT. ACTION WILL BE TAKEN AGAINST THE PARTICIPANT WHO  DISRESPECTS HIS OPPONENT OR THE GAME IN ANY WAY.

The decision of the TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE WILL BE BINDING AND FINAL IN ALL MATTERS.

Procedure in case of Ties:
In case of a tie Basis ranking points accumulated over Selection Leg 1 & Selection Leg 2.
There will be a playoff between the two players tied. which will be played over Best Of 3 frames in Snooker and 150 up best of 3 in case of Billiards.
