    Arantxa Sanchis moves up at  Manisha National Billiards  & Snooker championship 2013

    Pune, Feb 14:  Punjab's Dharminder Lilly outplayed Laxman Rawat of Maharashtra 4-0 (69-52, 79-05, 75-36, 54-13)   to move into the last sixteen in the Men's National Snooker event  at the Manisha National Billiards & Snooker Championship 2013 being held at Gymnasium Hall of Jiwaji University, Gwalior (Org. by Gwalior District Billiards and Snooker Association). In another match Railways Kamal Chawla potted out Tamil Nadu's Prem Prakash. 4-1 (50-09, 76-29, 47-66, 71-26, 70-32 Pune based Shivam Arora representing Bihar scored a 4-2 win over J. Varun Kumar Tamil Nadu 65-29, 60-67, 67-66, 11-87, 71(54)-12, 54-53 .In the Senior Snooker Women League round in a Group D encounter Pune player:  Arantxa Sanchis scored a 65-06, 55-13 win over Asha of Tamil Nadu to keep a clean slate.

    Hat trick of wins for Delhi Girls Bhandaal ,  Maharashtra Players Thakur , Sanchis enter quarterfinals 

    Pune, February 12: Keerath Bhandaal  of Delhi won her third title here winning the Junior Girls Snooker Title at the e Manisha National Billiards & Snooker Championship 2013 being held at Gymnasium Hall of Jiwaji University, Gwalior In the Junior Snooker final where  Bhandaal  knocked out Varsha Sanjeev  of Karnataka 2-1     (70-36, 35-45, 54-47) in best of 3 frames final match  to win the title . Third frame remained a crucial one where Keerath got a tough fight from Varsha but Keerath managed to step ahead in last moments of play and registered victory. This is Keerath’s third title in this national championship. Prior to this, she won Junior Billiards yesterday and Sub-Junior Snooker on the day before. In both the junior category girl’s events, Amee Kamani (MP) remained No.3 and Sania Arif (Chandigarh) as No.4. In  the Senior Women's Billiards event which got off today Pune girl and top seed Araxnta Sanchis of Pune made it to the Last eight along with Meenal Thakur who had to fight off a challenge from Junior player  Sania Arif before winning 2-1  46-61,62-41,60-52 . Sanchis got a walkover from Bhanumati Tendon of MP

    Chandra Returns with bang , State players shine at Manisha National billiards 

    Pune, February 6 : Manan Chandra (PSPB)  of Bharat Petroleum   returned to the game of Billiards and significantly defeated India No.6 Siddharth Parikh of Railways 3-1 in the game of Billiards in Manisha National Billiards & Snooker Championship 2013 being held at Gymnasium Hall of Jiwaji University, Gwalior (Org. by Gwalior District Billiards and Snooker Association). Manan is well known for his performances in the field of snooker and pool. He played the last National Billiards championship in the year 2006 (Chennai). Today in his match against Siddharth and won first two games comfortably scoring 101-31 and 101-78. Siddharth attempted a comeback and managed to win the next game 100-21 but in the fourth game Manan did not give much chance to India No.6 and sealed the match 3-1 by winning the game 100-32. Though Manan lost one match yesterday while playing against Simachalam (AP) but won the next against Gunjan Patel from Gujarat.  Arun Agrawal of Maharashtra continued to dominate the F group  winning his third match against Anshul Mittal of Haryana  3-0  (101-71, 101-62, 100-38) , while in Group G all Maharashtra encounter  V.Subramanian edged out Mahesh Jagdale  3-2 (31-100, 81-100, 101-84, 100-95, 101-44)

    Pune , February 5 : Aditya Agarwal of Railways shocked former National champion Alok Kumar of PSPB  101-81, 73-102, 100-19, 92-102, 105(94)-05  in a Group c  league match , while Devendra Joshi  of PSPB  and Arun Agarwal of Maharashtra scored back to back wins to lead  Group H at the  in the  Senior Billiards event at the Manisha National Billiards & Snooker Championship 2013 being played at Gwalior Devendra Joshi  outplayed  Maharashtra’s Jaiveer Dhingra  3-0 (101-46, 100-27, 102-54) to keep a clean slate Other state players continued their winning spree in Group D Sarang Shroff  scored a 3-1 win over  Nikhil Ghadge  winning 100-47, 87-102, 102-60, 101-94, in a group F  encounter Arun Agrawal   scored a 3-1 win over ( National 9 ball pool champion Rafath Habib  of Railways winning  3-1 (100-96, 75-101, 100-30, 101-52), Agarwal scored a back to back win outplaying Haryana’s  Anshul Mittal   3-0 (101-71, 101-62, 100-38)  In group G V. Subramanian  scraped past qualifier  Durga Prasad   3-2 (101-83, 21-100, 100-67, 41-100, 101(67)-46), while Mahesh Jagdale  scored a  3-1 win over  Umar Humayun  of J&K) winning 100-24, 75-101, 100-65, 101-25 Meanwhile late night yesterday Malkeet Singh made Uttar Pradesh proud by winning maiden national title for the State winning the  National Junior Snooker title   He defeated all three opponents in round robin league and scored +10 points. Nitesh Madan from Delhi remained No.2 as he defeated the other two contenders Vishal Vaya (4-Nil) and Rahul Sachdev (4-2).
