Manan, Kamal to play final of 6Reds Nationals

Manan Chandra of PSPB and Kamal Chawla of Railways have played brilliantly in the semis to reach the final of the 5th 6Reds Snooker Championship 2015 that will be played tomorrow at 1:00 PM at Bengal Rowing Club, Kolkata.

Both the cueists have many individual achievements and played at very high level but this is the first time that both are facing each other in the final of any form of snooker national.

Both the semis were high quality matches. In first semi, Manan oust tournament favourite and India’s only pro player, Aditya Mehta 6-4. Initially, Manan was down 1-2 but after that he won back to back 3 frames to step ahead 4-2. Though Aditya pulled back two more frames to come at par but once again Manan played superlative shots to win next two frames to close the match proceedings 6-4.

The other semi-final was between Kamal Chawla of Railways and young sensation Pushpender Singh who also represents Railways. This is the first time that Pushpender has reached at this high level and his hunger to reach in the final was but obvious. Full points to Chawla who countered him playing exceptionally well shots and won the match 6-3 to reach the final.

In women’s segment, Amee Kamani of Madhya Pradesh set up the final clash with defending champion Vidya Pillai of Karnataka.
